Dear Utah Summer Games Shootists:

Y'all are totally awesome, fer sure! On behalf of The Coal Creek Cowboys, we'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate each of you . . . and also to extend our sincere, heartfelt gratitude for making the 2007 Utah Summer Games another memorable event.

Our goal was to provide you with three full days of quality, challenging shooting competition. We wanted the match to be challenging ... but not difficult ... feed y'all well and send you home tired ... but smiling. We hope that we succeeded.

Penny and I are humbled by the support given us by our friends, both old and new. Should we accomplish nothing else in this sport, we've forged friendships that we hope will last beyond time. As tired as we were on Saturday night, we were nonetheless happy that our small efforts bring you joy. Our tears were real, as we had no idea that a bunch of "grown-ups" ... dressing up to play cowboy ... could have become so important to us. Our heroes have always been cowboys . . . and even more so since we've been so blessed to share this small part of your lives.
